Vice

I should mention that I'm a total Puma junkie. I am a huge fan of their shoes and clothes and accessories. I'm even a member in a Puma lovers message board/forum, LOL. I just love the style, the colours, etc. The stuff always seems to have just the right mix of athletic-inspired and urban, street looks. I especially dig the more unique shoes they have (ie: not the standard variations of runners) - the velcro and other non-lace up styles. I've purchased quite a few pairs on line and strangely enough, I've managed to find a few very cool pairs at Winners (yes, that Winners, the discount store, similar to a Marshals). I've scored even more Puma t-shirts, track tops and bags at Winners than shoes. I also firmly believe that almost all my Puma finds at Winners are in fact more rare than from regular stores or outlets. Sure, this may sound counter-intuitive because you'd think that a store like that would only get gear that is commom or overflow, but most of my Puma stuff (and my GF's too!!) is hard-to-find items because I think they get so little of it, it's usually a little older (so harder to find) and it is more like end runs or odd & sods. Bottom line - when you see Puma gear at Winners, grab it pronto 'cause it won't last and chances are it's pretty unique. [My treatise on Winners will be come later, LOL ;)

Score

Which leads me to my latest find! I'm quite thrilled about this one - it's the Puma Pele Selecao Tracksuit II. (pictures above)

The Wilco show last weekend was GREAT! Here are a few of the excellent pic that my girlfriend & I took. I love the lighting on them.

Ride the Tube!

I've successfully uploaded my first video to You Tube and even managed to embed it in the blog. This interweb thing sure is neat-o!

FYI - it's a video of Wilco performing in Montreal last summer, that I shot with a digital still camera that has modest video capabilities.

New Frontier

I am going to try to upload a short video to You Tube in an effort to "put it out there" and share some meaningful content on the Internerd. Stay tuned, and with any luck, there cold be a couple of links up soon...

WILCO !!

I'm catching Wilco tonight at the Bluesfest, and I'm stoked! In honour of the show, I thought I'd post a photo I snapped at their show in Montreal last June. (Yeah, it's a little late, but this was also my first attempt at inserting a photo in my blog, so it was a bit of trial...).

[*post-script: that was easier than I imagined, LOL]

Super Summer Music

Not a bad slate of shows I will be catching over the next couple of months: Broken Social Scene , Calexico and Wilco, both at the Ottawa Bluesfest. Should be excellent outdoor shows by two great live bands. It will be my third time taking in a Wilco show, and Tweedy & co. never fail to disappoint. Later, in August, Wolf Parade are playing in town, so when the show was announced I was all over those tickets in a huge hurry. Needless to say, to my ear, Apologies to the Queen Mary is one of the best albums of the last couple of years, and I expect the live show to be even more energetic. There are a couple more very desirable shows at the Bluesfest, such as the New Pornographers, Metric, Son Volt, Fiery Furnaces, Bell Orchestre, but unfortunately, I find the ticket prices are a little steep because day/event passes are priced higher due to "headliners" playing on the main stage while the aforementioned bands play on secondary stages. But anyway...

I can't wait to rock out!
